Well, of all the folks I have challenged to call in and back up their various statements out there in cyber-land, only “Maximus” had the intestinal fortitude to do so, and he’s not a Roman Catholic, he’s an Arminian who had some less-than-kind things to say about me and my interaction with Dave Hunt. We had a nice chat for the first half of the program. Then Ben asked about the issue of authority in the early church, which led to a brief discussion of reading the early church writers. We will keep the phone lines open Tuesday morning for “Catholic Dude” and “Doug C” and all the rest of the kind folks, like GAssisi and others, to back up their statements. 🙂 Here is Thursday’s program.

Judas and Open Theism, Preston Sprinkle and Pronoun Hospitality
James White, , Debate, General Apologetics, Homosexuality, Post-Evangelicalism, The Dividing Line
Two portions to the program today, the first dealing with Warren McGrew and the question, “Could Judas have done the right thing and not betrayed Jesus?” in reference to Jesus’ self-identification in John 13:19. Interesting stuff! Then we looked at Preston Sprinkle’s new book, Embodied, and examined his defense of “pronoun hospitality.”

Radio Free Geneva: Hinduism, Racism, and Calvinism
James White, , Exegesis, Reformed Apologetics, Simply Silly, The Dividing Line
Well, I need to warn you ahead of time: Rich surprised me with a new, uh, shall we say, powerful version of the Radio Free Geneva theme. I had not heard it till today! So that got us going for a review of the outrageous article that appeared on the SBC Today website on July 20th by Dr. Coxe of

Presuppositionalism, Chorazin and Bethsaida, and Rob Bell (In That Order)
James White, , The Dividing Line
Another eclectic program today, starting off with two calls, one on RC Sproul and his opposition to presuppositional apologetics (the call moved quickly to a discussion of the method more than Sproul’s views) and the next from Silly Brit II (aka John Samson) on Jesus’ words about Chorazin and Bethsaida. Then we launched into Rob Bell’s press-release video presentation from

Veritas Seminary and More on Rome
James White, , The Dividing Line
Started off with a brief discussion about this amazing and sad story about the degradation of our culture. Then moved on to the Veritas “exoneration” of Ergun Caner, and then moved back to the Slick/Sungenis discussion, in particular, on the issue of tradition and Scripture.

Beckwith Interview Review Part I
James White, , The Dividing Line
As promised, I began my review of the interview with Frank Beckwith today, even extending the program by ten minutes. I likewise responded to the “Yes, I had read Trent, even though my comments would lead any reasonable person to think I had not” issue as well. I am half way through the interview, but more than halfway through the

Road Trip Debate Review, Quick Comments on Pallmann/Hess Review
James White, , Church History, Debate, General Apologetics, Molinism, Personal, Provisionism, Reformed Apologetics, Road Trip, The Dividing Line
Out in the middle of Texas somewhere near I-10 at a pretty nice little RV park (it is a former KOA, but now has a nice little cafe that just provided me with a very tasty, fresh cheeseburger) that I will definitely visit again in the future. I pushed myself to get here in time to do a DL and

Monday Miscellaneous
James White, , Blog Stuff, Exegesis, Misc, Pastoral Theology, Resources, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters
Tackled a tough, challenging section of Hebrews at PRBC on Sunday. NOTE TO ALL ANTI-LORDSHIP, CHEAP-GRACE, NON-REPENTANCE FOLKS: Please note both sermons, but especially the evening sermon. I really tried to give you all the evidence you could possibly need that I am firmly, unalterably OPPOSED to your position and identify it as a fundamental denial of the Gospel. I

Spain Trip Review
James White, , The Dividing Line
Went over my trip to Spain, including playing a portion from the atonement debate, and commenting on the whole experience, as well as noting that the wild-and-wacky world of Brewton Parker (a new hit reality series scheduled to run right after Duck Dynasty we’ve heard) intruded on the trip with the appointment of Professor of Church History Rev. Doctor Peter
