Don’t think I can keep this pace up, but I hope it is helpful! Played the entirety of the Perkins/Reeves debate on the Godhead on the stream, and then did a 90 minute DL yesterday afternoon. Started out the first half hour finishing up reviewing each of the references to me and my work by Micah Coate in his horrific

  • Monergism vs. Synergism

James White, March 25, 2010September 1, 2020, The Dividing Line

Today kicked off the two-part debate between myself and Michael Brown. I suppose it is the classical Calvinist/Arminian debate, but I prefer the monergism/synergism description myself. In any case, we covered John 6, Romans 8-9, and Ephesians 1 over the course of 90 minutes. It is fast paced with very little break in the action, that’s for sure. Next week

James White, July 16, 2018July 16, 2018, Christian Worldview, Church History, Exegesis, Homosexuality, Racialism, Reformed Apologetics, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters

Started off commenting on the Crosspolitic.com interview with Greg Johnson, pastor of the PCA church hosting the Revoice Conference this weekend.  Then we started taking calls on topics such as polygamy, the canon of the Old Testament, how to leave a church, and finishing with a call from Dino in Sri Lanka on the subject of Roman Catholicism. Here is

  • Let’s Make Cyril Lucaris Great Again!

James White, June 28, 2024July 15, 2024, Church Fathers, Church History, Eastern Orthodoxy, The Dividing Line

Finally got around to having Jason Wallace join us to talk about this video he posted a while back on the fascinating topic of Cyril Lucaris, the Calvinist Ecumenical Patriarch of Constantinople. If you are encountering the claims of Orthodoxy, this is a program you will want to listen to! Enjoy!

  • Response to Dave Hunt on Reformed Theology, Part 1 of 3

James White, June 23, 2001July 14, 2020, The Dividing Line

Since Dave Hunt went from admitting an ignorance of the Reformers a very short time ago to authoring a book attacking Reformed theology, James White begins to demonstrate that Dave Hunt’s theology does not derive from exegesis or understanding of the original languages.

  • Ergun Caner and the Rational Response Squad

James White, March 15, 2007July 9, 2020, The Dividing Line

Spent the program looking at the first portion of the dialogue between Ergun Caner of Liberty University and the guys from the “Rational Response Squad.” If you are expecting me to be going after Caner, you will be disappointed. Sure, it was a bit hard to listen to, and I would love to send him a t-shirt that says “Greg

  • Purgatory and Modern Roman Apologists, Plus Calls

James White, October 19, 2010September 8, 2020, The Dividing Line

Went over some material on purgatory at the top of the show, then took calls relevant to the same topic on subjects such as “the eucharist.” A Roman Catholic intensive Dividing Line prior to my trip to Oregon to debate Robert Sungenis.

  • Thoughts on SCOTUS and Phone Calls

James White, July 7, 2015October 13, 2020, Christian Worldview, Homosexuality, Pastoral Theology, The Dividing Line

Meandering thoughts over a week after the SCOTUS decision (and in light of recording a program relevant thereto with Jeff Durbin and the folks at Apologia this afternoon) due to my travel schedule started the program today.  Then we went to calls and covered a wide variety of topics, including getting into a little Star Trek trivia in passing! v
