I’m glad Steve Hays has more time these days than I do. He’s on top of the eisegetical nightmares Paul Owen is posting, and here is the newest. Well named, “The Enemy Within.” Owen is demonstrating he is anything but what he claims to be, that is for certain. Once again, I wonder when other folks will start to put together the big picture of Owen’s agenda? Read this stuff, read his comments on Catholicism, on Mormonism, and Baptists. It’s really not that hard to figure out. Honest.

They Went Out From Us
James White, , Reformed Apologetics
Evidently there is no “tolerance” amongst the uber-tolerant “Reformed Catholics” for believing that the gospel is what defines the Christian faith. One of their number, who has moved a very, very long way away from where he once stood and from what he once professed, taught, and even preached, recently wrote an article titled “Noisy Gongs and Clanging Cymbals.” In

Response to “Prophecy Channel”
TurretinFan, , Reformed Apologetics
The video below is a response to Prophecy Channel’s (PC’s) response to Dr. James White. There three main sections to the video, and consequently three main sections to the response: 1. Does Dr. White think only Calvinists are Christians? No. Dr. White acknowledges that there are non-Calvinist Christians. On the other hand, Dr. White recognizes that not everyone who calls

Dave Hunt Says Calvinism a False Gospel
James White, , Reformed Apologetics
It is dangerous to let folks guest blog for you. They get bit by the bug and go and start their own blog and well, then you are left with nobody to guest blog for you anymore! That’s what happened with Alan Kurschner, who has begun a most entertaining blog, www.calvinistgadfly.com. I appreciated his kind words concerning my debate with

Holding Onto Hebraisms: James Patrick Holding’s Odd Take on Election and Exegesis (Part 4)
James White, , Reformed Apologetics
Let’s begin with the concept of “Hebrew block logic.” A scan of the standard Hebrew grammars and works on syntax reveals no emphasis upon such an concept in the regularly used scholarly sources. A scan of my entire Libronics library (a rather large collection, for which I’m thankful), brought up only one reference: that in the book cited by Holding.

The Redemption of Christ
James White, , Reformed Apologetics, Reformed Baptist Issues, The Dividing Line, Thomism
Today we dove headlong into one of the greatest chapters in Calvin’s Institutes, Book II, chapter 16, where he lays out the great work of Christ. It has been alleged that a “Reformed Biblicist” like myself could not speak as Calvin did. We buried that strawman deep into the soil of truth. Enjoy!

Vanishing Freedoms and More Interaction with Trent Horn on Church History
James White, , Christian Worldview, Church Fathers, Church History, Debate, Persecution, Post-Evangelicalism, Reformed Apologetics, Roman Catholicism, The Dividing Line
First half an hour or so we talked about Covid and passports and freedoms and the like, then we moved into looking at Trent Horn’s response to a small portion of our discussion of his 2019 Catholic Answers talk on Protestant “distortions” of church history, focusing upon the idea of “the argument from silence.” Almost an hour and 45 minutes

City Council Video, Ekemini Uwan and Wicked Whiteness, Radio Free Geneva on Leighton Flowers
James White, , Exegesis, General Apologetics, Racialism, Radio Free Geneva, Reformed Apologetics, The Dividing Line
Started off with my 3 minute presentation to the Phoenix City Council from last Wednesday, then moved into a pretty full analysis of Ekemini Uwan’s comments at the Sparrow Conference focused on the “wickedness of whiteness.” Looked a lot at the critical theory foundation to her views. Then we fired up the Radio Free Geneva theme and looked at a

The “Pristine Faith Restoration Society” and John 6
James White, , Reformed Apologetics
Yeah, I had never heard of it either. But a listener to the DL wrote and referred me to a discussion of John 6 on the site, and said they found it compelling. So, I have taken the time to reply to it here. If you visit the site, you might find it odd that the very nice graphic with
