Went more than 90 minutes today starting off with a warning about the abusive forms of cultic KJVOism out there, looking at the Ruckman-esque behavior of one Cody Zorn, a KJV pastor down in Georgia. Then we did a major shift in direction and did a full hour lecture on theology, Scripture, and how we define our faith. We eventually touched on Calvin, natural theology, and the current controversy over the definition of “divine simplicity.” Another program to keep the A&O truckers happy!

In Defense of Scripture: Bart Ehrman, Steven Anderson, Chris Pinto
James White, , The Dividing Line
A jumbo edition of the program today, starting off with a little information on Bart Ehrman’s most recent anti-Christian book and the Christian response to it. Then I played a clip from the just released film, New World Order Bible Versions, a very shallow KJV Only presentation, pointing to a rather ironic element of the film, and finished up reviewing the comments

Radio Free Geneva: Ed Young Jr.’s Outrageous Rant Against Straw-Man Calvinism
James White, , The Dividing Line
It was the quintessential example of why we do Radio Free Geneva: a very popular speaker, a huge dose of tradition, a truckload of ignorance, and in this case, a barrel full of anger, all producing a twelve minute long rant “warning” the members of Fellowship Church against that horrible different gospel of Calvinism. It took 90 minutes to work

Archbishop Vigano Torches Francis, Open Phones
James White, , Christian Worldview, General Apologetics, Godly Disciplines, Misc, Musings, Open Phones, Pastoral Theology, Personal, Roman Catholicism, Textual Issues, The Dividing Line, Theology Matters
We had to take time to read through Archbishop Virgano’s utter torching of Francis and the current Vatican regime at the start of the program, then we took calls on the following topics: conjectural emendation in the Old Testament, issues relating to annihilationism/conditionalism, Shoemaker’s critical study of the Qur’an, advice for a new father, developments in Mormonism, and raising godly

You Will Be Hated
Mike Porter, , Christian Worldview
Paul warned Timothy in his second letter to him, “And indeed, all who desire to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted.” (2Ti 3:12) These words came just after Paul recited his own persecutions and just before he warned Timothy of impostors and evil men would proceed from bad to worse. Paul’s encouragement for Timothy is to continue in

Three Main Topics Today on the Dividing Line
James White, , Homosexuality, The Dividing Line
We started out with an update on what is going on down in Australia with our brother David Ould and a reality TV show he did. We hope to have David on, probably on 9/9, to discuss what is going on with the “spin” and the cultural response to a Christian witness regarding homosexuality. Then we shifted gears and discussed

No End in Sight for Misquotation of Athanasius
TurretinFan, , Roman Catholicism
After posting some updates to my original article (link), I stopped by Mr. Albrecht’s video page, hoping against hope that Mr. Albrecht might have had the sense to apologize for his own (and his fellow apologists’) misquotation of Pseudo-Athanasius as Athanasius. My hopes were dashed.

R.C. Sproul and Mel Duncan
James White, , The Dividing Line
Had a wonderful time talking with R.C. Sproul about the gospel for the first half hour, then Mel Duncan (J. Ligon Duncan’s brother) for the second half hour. Enjoy!
